Frozen Fish & Seafood

Frozen fish and seafood bring together everything from the sea in our frozen range. Fish is cleaned, cut and frozen soon after it is landed, which locks in its texture and lets you cook a fish curry or a fry on any night of the week. For South Asian cooks that means a ready supply for Bengali macher jhol, Kerala fish moilee, a Sri Lankan ambul thiyal or a Goan prawn curry, alongside the breaded fish that children eat with chips.

The section is split in two. Frozen fish covers fillets, steaks and breaded fish such as fish fingers. Frozen prawns and seafood covers raw and cooked prawns, king prawns and other shellfish. Choose raw prawns and fish for curries and marinades, since they take on spice as they cook, and cooked or breaded options when you want food on the table in minutes.

The best way to thaw fish and prawns is slowly, overnight in the fridge, on a plate to catch the drips. For a quicker thaw, seal them in a bag and sit it in cold water. Pat the fish dry before marinating with turmeric, chilli and salt, so the spices stick and the pan stays hot. Keep the freezer at -18°C and do not refreeze anything once it has thawed.
