Bournvita is the chocolate malt drink that generations of Indian families have stirred into a glass of milk, a cereal based mix made from an extract of barley, millets and wheat with cocoa, sugar and added vitamins and minerals. It dissolves into hot or cold milk to give a smooth, malty chocolate drink, and the jar is labelled for ages 7 and up. This is the 500g jar with a screw lid, made in India for Mondelez. How to use it
The jar says to add 2 heaped spoonfuls, about 20g, to a cup of 200ml hot or cold milk and stir well, with 2 serves suggested a day. Whisk it into warm milk at breakfast or bedtime, or shake it with cold milk and ice for a quick chocolate milkshake. A spoonful also flavours overnight oats and porridge. Close the lid tightly straight after use so the powder does not harden.
