Mr King King Prawns are whole vannamei prawns, Litopenaeus vannamei, farmed in Ecuador and freshly frozen in a 2kg box. At 40 to 50 prawns per pound they are a generous size, firm and sweet once cooked, and high in protein with very little fat. How to use it
The box says to cook before eating and not to refreeze after thawing. Thaw the amount you need in the fridge, peel and devein, then cook in a prawn masala, a coconut prawn curry, a garlic butter stir fry or a biryani. Prawns cook quickly; take them off the heat as soon as they turn pink and curl.
