TRS chopped spinach 795g is cooked spinach, chopped and canned with nothing else added, in the size to buy if saag appears on your table more than occasionally. Chopped spinach holds some leaf texture, unlike the KTC and Natco purees, so choose it for a saag aloo, a dal palak or a spinach curry where you want to see the leaf; choose a puree when the dish will be blended smooth anyway, and the TRS spinach leaf when the leaves should stay whole.

How to use it

• Saag aloo or saag paneer: cook onion, garlic, ginger and green chilli in oil, add the spinach and simmer
• Dal palak, stirred into a cooked dal before the tarka
• Keema palak and egg bhurji, folded in at the end
• Filling for parathas and samosas, once drained well
