KTC Spinach Puree is cooked spinach, pureed and lightly salted, 97.6 per cent spinach in the 795g tin. It takes out the longest part of making palak paneer or saag, which is washing, wilting and blending several bags of leaves. If the spinach is going to be blended anyway, buy it blended. If you want some leaf left in a dal, the TRS Chopped Spinach 795g is the one, and for leaves that stay whole, the TRS Spinach Leaf 765g.
How to use it
For palak paneer, fry cumin, garlic, ginger and onion, add the puree, let it simmer, then fold in fried paneer and a little cream. It becomes the gravy in saag aloo, saag chicken or saag gosht, and stirs into a cooked dal for dal palak. Heat it for three or four minutes without boiling, and drain it if you are serving it as a side.
