TRS Sarson Ka Saag is green mustard leaf in a curry sauce with ginger, onion, garlic and green chilli, cooked and ready to heat, produced in India. At 94 per cent mustard leaf the TRS is the sharper and more traditional of the two saags we sell; the KTC Sarson Ka Saag 800g blends in spinach and comes out milder. One 850g tin serves four with roti.
How to use it
Heat it gently, stirring, until it is piping hot, then pour over a tarka of garlic and a little red chilli fried in ghee or butter. Eat it with makki di roti, white butter and a piece of gur if you are doing it properly, or with plain roti and a raw onion if you are not.
