East End Pure Sunflower Oil is a light, neutral, all purpose oil, and the 1 litre bottle to pick when you want the oil to disappear behind the spice. The East End pack gives a smoke point of 230C, so it takes a hot karahi without trouble. For everyday curries and shallow frying it does everything groundnut or sesame oil would, without adding a flavour of its own.
How to use it
It is the base of almost any curry: heat, whole spices, then onion. It fries pakora, bhaji, samosa and puri comfortably at 170 to 180C, roasts vegetables, greases a tin for cake or dhokla, and goes into dressings and marinades. Keep it out of direct sunlight, and never pour hot oil back into the bottle.
