Viswas Jackfruit Green Whole is young, unripe jackfruit in larger whole pieces, frozen so it is ready whenever you want to cook a traditional jackfruit curry. Green jackfruit has a mild flavour and a dense, meaty bite, ideal for slow cooked Sri Lankan polos and Kerala style curries, and it makes a satisfying meat free main. How to use it
To thaw, remove the amount you need and leave it in a bowl in the fridge overnight, or use a strainer under cold running water for quicker thawing. Cut into bite size pieces if you like, then simmer with roasted curry powder, coconut milk and spices for polos, or cook with mustard seeds, curry leaves and coconut for a dry Kerala dish. Keep the rest frozen and do not refreeze after thawing.
