Natco boiled chick peas jumbo 400g are the larger calibre chickpea, boiled in salted water, 240g drained, and ready to heat. The bigger bean holds its shape in a chana masala where a standard tin turns to paste, and gives a coarser hummus. Choose the jumbo tin when the chickpeas should be seen and bitten; choose the TRS 800g for twice the quantity at a standard size.

How to use it

• Chana masala or Punjabi chole, simmered in an onion, tomato and ginger masala
• Chana chaat with potato, onion, tamarind chutney and sev
• Hummus, blended with tahini, garlic, lemon and a little of the liquid from the tin
• Roasted with oil and chaat masala for a snack
