Natco Boiled Chick Peas Jumbo are the larger calibre chickpea, boiled in salted water and ready to heat, 240g drained. The bigger bean holds its shape in a chana masala where a standard tin goes to paste, and it gives a coarser, better hummus. Buy the Natco jumbo when the chickpeas are meant to be seen and bitten. If you need twice the quantity at a standard size, take the TRS Chick Peas 800g.
How to use it
Simmer them in an onion, tomato and ginger masala for chana masala or Punjabi chole. Cold, they go into a chana chaat with potato, onion, tamarind chutney and sev. For hummus, blend them with tahini, garlic, lemon and a spoonful of the liquid from the tin. Roasted with oil and chaat masala they make a decent snack.
