Heera Biryani Flavouring Essence is a concentrated biryani flavouring in sunflower oil, sold in a small 28ml glass bottle. A few drops give rice dishes the rich, fragrant aroma of a restaurant biryani, which helps when you are cooking a big pot for guests. The label is clear that a little goes a long way: up to 3 teaspoons per kilo of pulav, vegetable biryani or chicken biryani. Find more cooking and baking flavourings in our Essences range.
How to use it
Add it cautiously. For a kilo of rice, start with a teaspoon sprinkled over the rice layer before you seal the pot for dum, then taste the next batch and add more if you want a stronger aroma, up to 3 teaspoons. It also works stirred into the masala for a chicken or vegetable pulav. Replace the cap straight after use and keep the bottle somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight.
