Heera Amla Powder is dried Indian gooseberry ground to a fine greenish powder. Amla tastes sharply sour and a little astringent, and the powder keeps that flavour in a form that is easy to measure out. In Indian homes it is stirred into drinks, chutneys and dals. How to use it
Whisk half a teaspoon into a glass of warm water with a little honey, or blend it into a smoothie or lassi. Stir a pinch into dal, sambar or a tomato chutney for extra sourness, or mix it with jaggery, roasted cumin and black salt for a sweet and sour amla chutney. Keep the pack sealed or move the powder to an airtight jar once opened.
