Start shoppingCK Food is a Bangladeshi bakery brand, and its ghee toast is a crisp, twice baked biscuit made with ghee and butter. It is the toast that sits beside a cup of milky tea at home and at tea stalls across Bangladesh.

CK Food is made in Bangladesh and exported by the same group that ships fish and farm produce from the country. The pack carries a halal mark and the BSTI mark of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution. Ghee toast is a long, golden rusk, baked once as a loaf, sliced and baked again until dry, so it snaps cleanly and soaks up tea without falling apart straight away.
It sits in rusks and khari, part of our snacks and noodles department. Next to the Indian cake rusks and flaky puff khari on the same shelf, ghee toast is richer and more buttery, with a gentle sweetness and a short, crumbly bite from the ghee.
In Bangladesh, toast biscuits are a fixture of the afternoon cha, dipped into strong, sweet tea made with condensed milk or plenty of whole milk. Dip quickly and lift it out before it softens through. They are also handed round with tea when guests arrive, eaten at iftar beside dates and fried snacks, and given to children broken into a bowl of warm milk. Spread with butter for a quick breakfast, or pair with a cup of masala chai for a desi tea break.
Fold the bag tightly or move the toast into an airtight tin once opened, because damp air softens it within a day or two. For more to dunk, browse biscuits and cookies, and for loose tea bags to brew alongside, the tea shelves are close by.
