Cif

Cif is a household cleaning brand made by Unilever, best known in Britain for its cream cleaner and sprays. The all purpose floor cleaner is a concentrated liquid for diluting in a bucket, made for linoleum, vinyl and ceramic tiles, the floors in most kitchens, bathrooms and hallways.

A kitchen floor in a home that cooks every day collects a thin layer of oil from frying, spilt dal and flour from rolling roti, and the grease turns a tiled floor dull and sticky. Pour two capfuls into half a bucket of water and mop as usual; there is no need to rinse, and the floor dries with a streak free shine. For a stubborn mark, such as a turmeric spill or a dropped spoon of ghee, pour a little straight onto a wet sponge, rub, then rinse. The same mix cleans hallway tiles after a wet day.
