Buzz

Buzz cloths are reusable microfibre, the fine split fibres that grip dust and lift water marks without a spray. According to the packs, the cloths are treated with Germ Shield, a silver copper zeolite finish that resists bacterial growth in the fabric between washes.

We keep Buzz in household cleaning, within our personal care and household department. The range covers a textured bathroom cloth for sinks, baths and showers, and a soft yellow duster with extra long fibres for shelves, frames, screens and furniture.

Use the bathroom cloth lightly damp with plain water. It takes the white spots off taps and shower screens left by hard water and the film of soap on a basin, and a dry corner buffs chrome to a shine. The duster is for dry work: run it over the shrine shelf, picture frames, the television and the tops of kitchen cupboards, where cooking oil and dust settle together. Keep the two apart, one for the bathroom and one for the rest of the house.

Shake the duster out outdoors when it fills, and wash both often at under 40C, without bleach or fabric softener, which clogs the fibres. Line dry them; do not tumble dry or iron. For laundry liquid to wash them in, see laundry, and for gloves and sprays, browse the rest of the cleaning shelf.
