Start shoppingBloome makes plain white tealights in metal cups, each burning for up to four hours. Unscented, they sit quietly on a dinner table or line a windowsill for Diwali.
Bloome tealights are small white wax candles set in thin metal cups, sold fifteen to a pack. They carry no fragrance, so they never compete with the smell of food on the table or with incense burning at the shrine, and each one burns for up to four hours.
You will find Bloome in candles and air fresheners, within our personal care and household department. A pack of plain tealights is the most useful candle a house can keep: they fit lanterns, glass holders, food warmers and the clay diya stands sold for festivals.
For Diwali, families set rows of tealights along windowsills, steps and garden paths, or place them in the centre of a rangoli. They light the corners of a room during a Lakshmi pooja, and a few in coloured glass holders make a quick table for Eid, a birthday dinner or Christmas. Under a teapot warmer they keep chai hot through a long visit. Many homes buy several packs before the festival season, as a single evening of lamps uses more than you expect.
Stand each one on a heatproof surface or in a holder, trim any long wick and never leave a lit candle unattended near curtains, children or pets. For camphor, agarbathi and lamp wicks for the shrine, see pooja essentials, and for festival shopping browse Navratri puja essentials.
