Start shoppingBisk Club is a Bangladeshi biscuit brand from the PRAN food group, made for the tea table. Its range runs from golden twice-baked dry cake to crunchy cream sandwich biscuits.
Bisk Club belongs to PRAN, one of the largest food groups in Bangladesh, whose snacks, drinks and biscuits are sold across South Asia, the Middle East and Britain. The packs are made in Bangladesh and carry a halal mark, and the style is that of the neighbourhood bakery and the roadside tea stall: sweet, crunchy and made to be dunked.
We carry two sides of the range. The dry cake biscuit, a golden twice-baked slice of sponge known in Bangladesh simply as dry cake, sits in rusks and khari. The strawberry cream biscuits, two crunchy rounds sandwiched with a pink flavoured cream, are in cream biscuits. Both belong to the biscuits and cookies shelf of our snacks and noodles department.
Dry cake is made for cha: a cup of strong milky tea with sugar, sometimes with ginger or cardamom, and a slice dipped for a moment until the edge softens. In Bengali and Sylheti homes it comes out with the evening tea and whenever guests call, alongside chanachur and toast biscuits, and it travels well in a bag for a long day out. The cream biscuits are more of a lunchbox and after school sweet, popular with children and easy to keep in a desk drawer.
Close the dry cake pack tightly after opening, or tip it into an airtight tin, because the slices lose their snap in damp air. For more dunking biscuits, compare the rusks on the same shelf with our sweet biscuits, and pick up loose leaf tea for a proper pot of cha to go with them.
