Ariel

Ariel Original is biological, which means it uses enzymes to break down protein and food stains such as egg, blood, turmeric and curry oil. The pods hold a measured dose of concentrated liquid detergent in a film that dissolves in the drum, and the pack says they work from 20°C to 95°C, including short and cold cycles. The powder is a fast dissolving formula for households that like to measure their own dose or use a drawer.

Both sit in laundry in our personal care and household department, alongside other detergents and fabric care.

For pods, put one in the back of an empty drum with dry hands, then add the clothes on top; a heavily soiled or very large load may need two. For powder, follow the dosing guide on the box for your water and load size. For turmeric and haldi stains, rinse in cold water first, then wash at the lowest temperature the fabric allows. Delicates such as silk and wool are better with a non biological or wool detergent.

Keep pods in their resealable child safe pouch, closed and out of reach of children and pets, and away from damp, which can soften the film. Store powder dry with the lid closed. For cleaning your hands after a wash day, see skin care.
