Essential Kitchen Foil on the 10m roll is the wide one, 450mm across, which is the width that wraps a whole leg of lamb or covers a large roasting tin without a join down the middle. The box prints a roasting chart on the back, with oven temperatures and minutes per 500g for beef, lamb, pork, gammon, chicken, fish and turkey. How to use it
Wrap a joint loosely so the heat moves around it, shiny side in or out makes no practical difference, and open the parcel for the last stretch if you want colour on the skin. Before the foil goes near a salty rub or a marinade, brush it with a little oil, because salt pits aluminium and leaves pinholes. Keep it off rhubarb, lemon and anything else sharply acidic.
