EasyClean Caustic Soda is pure sodium hydroxide in a 375g bottle, the old fashioned way to clear a kitchen sink that has silted up with fat and a shower waste clogged with hair. Dissolved in cold water it also strips grease off paintwork, bins, paths and brickwork. It is corrosive and sold to over 18s only. How to use it
Always add the caustic soda to the water, never water to the soda, and use cold water. For a blocked drain, stir 100g into a litre of cold water, pour it down and leave it half an hour; for routine cleaning of a slow drain, 50g to the litre is enough. Wear rubber gloves and eye protection, keep your face away from the fumes, and lock the cap back on afterwards.
