      About Ching's

Ching's Secret is an Indian food brand built entirely around Indo-Chinese cooking, the fiery, garlicky style that grew from the Chinese community of Kolkata into one of India's favourite ways to eat. Its packs bring the flavours of the street-corner hakka stall, Schezwan fried rice and gobi manchurian, into the home kitchen.

Our Ching's range spans several shelves. The Indo-Chinese masala collection holds spice mixes for chilli paneer, veg manchurian and Schezwan fried rice, and there is a fried chicken masala in chicken masala. Stir-fry sauces for Manchurian and Schezwan dishes are in cooking sauces. For the noodles there are chowmein and egg noodles in hakka noodles and Schezwan instant noodles in masala noodles, plus cornflour for coating and thickening.

A typical Indo-Chinese dinner starts with cornflour-coated cauliflower, paneer or chicken fried until crisp, then tossed with onion, capsicum, garlic and a Ching's sauce or masala for chilli or manchurian, served dry or with gravy. Hakka noodles are boiled briefly, rinsed, then stir-fried on a high flame with shredded cabbage, carrot and spring onion. Schezwan fried rice works best with day-old rice. Choose the masala mixes for dry-fried dishes and the sauces when you want a glossy gravy.

Cooked noodles stick together if left, so toss them with a little oil straight after draining. Keep opened sauce in the fridge. To compare other quick noodles, look at the Maggi range, and for more noodle styles see our full noodles collection.
