Ching's Secret Chowmein Noodles bring the tak-a-tak street chowmein of Indian roadside stalls home, with a pack of thin wheat noodles and a free 14g pouch of chowmein masala. The masala is chilli, cumin and coriander with garlic, onion and soy sauce powder, enough to season the noodles and a pan of vegetables with no extra salt. One 140g pack serves about four as a side. How to use it
Boil water in a pan and switch off the flame. Put the noodles in, cover and leave them to stand for 5 to 7 minutes without cooking, then drain and rinse under running water. Stir fry about 300g of cut cabbage, carrot, capsicum and onion in a few spoons of hot oil, add the noodles and the masala pouch, sprinkle over a little water and toss until everything is coated. Finish with chopped spring onion and serve hot.
