Start shoppingShana is the frozen flatbread name many British Asian families keep in the freezer: flaky parathas, lacha paratha, stuffed homestyle parathas, methi thepla and wholemeal chapattis. They cook from frozen in a dry pan in a few minutes.

Shana is a UK frozen food brand known above all for its parathas, the flaky, layered flatbreads of North India and Pakistan, made the long way so you do not have to. Its range follows the breads of a Punjabi or Gujarati home kitchen, plain and stuffed, and much of it is marked suitable for vegetarians, with the onion paratha carrying a vegan logo.
Most of Shana sits in our frozen parathas collection: the original plain paratha, a coiled lacha paratha with crisp rings, garlic, chilli and chilli garlic versions, and homestyle stuffed parathas filled with spiced onion or aloo gobi. The brand also makes soft wholemeal chapattis and a masala chapatti in the style of methi thepla, found in frozen rotis and chapatis. Both belong to our frozen parathas and breads range.
Plain and lacha parathas go with a karahi, a bowl of dal or a Sunday breakfast of omelette and chai. Stuffed aloo gobi and onion parathas are a meal on their own with yoghurt, butter and mixed pickle. Chapattis are the everyday bread for sabzi and curry, and methi thepla is the Gujarati travel bread, eaten with chhundo, curd or tea. Pick the multi packs for a large household, and the smaller boxes to try a new flavour.
Do not thaw them: place a paratha straight into a hot, dry pan, turn it until golden and puffed, and peel off only as many as you need. For Kerala and Sri Lankan layered breads, compare our frozen porotta and veechu roti.
