Balaji Wafers is a snack company from Rajkot in Gujarat, best known in India for its potato wafers and namkeen. Its frozen foods come under two names. Sattvapurna is the range of samosas and parathas, and Two Slices is a line of ready made sandwiches in the style of a Mumbai or Ahmedabad sandwich stall. Everything we carry from Balaji carries the green vegetarian mark.
Sattvapurna samosas sit in our frozen samosas collection, from small cocktail samosas filled with chana dal to mixed vegetable samosas and jumbo potato and peas samosas, each box with a sweet tamarind chutney and a spicy green chutney. The Sattvapurna home style paratha, made from a short list of ingredients, is in frozen parathas. Two Slices sandwiches, in mixed vegetable or cucumber and mint, are in frozen sandwiches and wraps, and are made with no onion and no garlic.
The cocktail samosas are sized for a party plate or a Diwali tray, while the jumbo ones make a filling tea time snack with chai. Fry the samosas until blistered, or bake them for a lighter finish. The home style paratha goes with dal, sabzi or a bowl of curd.
Cook everything straight from frozen and keep the chutney pouches in the fridge once opened. For more fried snacks, compare frozen kachori and the wider frozen snacks and sides range.
