Bru Instant in the 100g glass jar is the UK export pack of India's familiar coffee and chicory mix, made with 70% instant coffee and 30% roasted chicory. The chicory adds a rounded, slightly toasty depth that suits coffee made with plenty of milk, which is why it tastes close to the cups served in Indian homes and canteens. The label is printed in English with German, French, Swedish and Finnish, with a full nutrition table, and the jar has a twist-to-open, press-to-close cap. It is a handy size for an office desk or for trying Bru before buying a bigger jar from our Instant Coffee shelf.
How to use it
For a hot cup, the label says put one teaspoon (2g) in a cup, add 250ml of hot water or milk, sugar to taste and stir well. For cold coffee, add one and a half teaspoons (3g) to 350ml of chilled milk with sugar, whizz in a blender or shake hard for a good froth, then pour over ice.
