Araliya Rosa Raw Rice is rosa kekulu, a pale Sri Lankan raw rice with a medium grain. It is milled without parboiling, so it cooks quickly into tender, slightly sticky rice that takes on the flavour of whatever is spooned over it, from a chicken curry to a simple parippu. How to cook it
Wash the rice until the water runs nearly clear. Cook one cup with about two cups of water, covered, on a low heat for fifteen to twenty minutes. Leave the lid on for five minutes off the heat so the grains firm up.
