      About Ekland

Ekland is a drinks label we carry for its instant iced tea, a sweetened powder that mixes straight into cold water. Instant iced teas like this are a common sight in Turkish, Eastern European and Middle Eastern shops, sold in tubs that make jug after jug through the summer months.

Our Ekland range sits in the iced tea collection, part of the wider tea range in the tea, coffee and drinks department. There are fruit flavours including peach, lemon and forest fruit, each in its own tub. Each flavour makes a sweet, lightly tea-flavoured drink, more like a fruit squash than a brewed tea.

Spoon the powder into a jug of cold water, stir until dissolved, and add ice, lemon slices and a few mint leaves. Children like it frozen into ice lollies, and it makes a quick fruit punch for parties when mixed with sparkling water and chopped fruit. Some people add a spoonful of the lemon flavour to cold black tea for a stronger, homemade iced tea. For a sharper drink, use a little less powder than the tub suggests and top up with fresh lemon juice.

Keep the tub sealed in a dry cupboard, as sugar-based powders harden in damp air, and use a dry spoon. Made-up iced tea keeps a day or two in the fridge. To compare, browse our cordials and fruit drinks collections.
