Mathangi Porotta is the soft, layered flatbread of Kerala, described on the box as layered flat bread made out of refined wheat flour, and this family pack holds 20 pieces. The recipe is simple: maida, sunflower oil, water and salt, and the pack is marked vegan friendly, 100% natural and free from additives. How to use it
For best results the pack says to thaw the porotta to room temperature and remove it from the packet, then heat it in the microwave or on a frying pan and serve hot. Butter or margarine can be added, and the porottas can be heated in a toaster as well. Serve with chicken or beef fry, egg roast, vegetable stew or a spicy kurma.
