Fudco Whole Stemless Red Chilli Dandicut in the 200g bag is the same hot Indian red chilli with the stalks trimmed off, in a size for kitchens that temper a dal every day. The pods are thin and shiny red, with seeds that rattle inside and a sharp, direct heat. Removing the stems saves a job when you are grinding a batch of masala or chutney. How to use it
Fry whole chillies in ghee or oil for the tadka on dal, kadhi, chole or upma. Roast them with urad dal, chana dal and coriander seeds for sambar powder or idli podi, or grind them with coconut and tamarind for a South Indian chutney. Soaked and blended with garlic and vinegar, they make a quick chilli paste for marinades. Cook before eating, as the pack advises.
