Fudco Whole Stemless Red Chilli Dandicut is a 100g bag of dried red chillies from India with the stalks cut away, which is what dandicut means. The pods are slim, glossy and a bright brick red, with a clean, sharp heat that is stronger than Kashmiri chilli. They are the everyday whole chilli of Indian cooking, fried in the tadka or ground into masalas and chutneys. Find more whole chillies in our Whole Dried Chillies range.
How to use it
Break two or three into hot oil with mustard seeds, cumin and curry leaves and let them darken for a few seconds before pouring the tadka over dal, sambar, rasam or poriyal. Dry roast a handful with coriander and cumin seeds and grind for a fresh curry powder, or soak and blend them with garlic for a chilli paste. The pack says to cook before eating. Wash your hands after breaking them.
