Fudco Basmati Mumra 800g is the largest bag of this puffed basmati rice, sized for Diwali chevdo, a party tray of bhel or a household that snacks on mumra every day. The long basmati grains puff into light, crunchy pieces, and the ingredient list is basmati rice alone. It is a big, airy bag, so plan some cupboard space. How to use it
For a festive chevdo, roast the mumra in a wide pan with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilli, turmeric and hing, then add fried peanuts, cashews, raisins and a little powdered sugar and salt. Let it cool fully before it goes into tins. Use smaller handfuls for bhel puri with onion, tomato and chutneys, or the spicy mumra recipe on the back of the pack. Once opened, keep the rest in an airtight container so it stays crisp.
