Enrich White Raw Rice is a Sri Lankan white rice milled raw, with no parboiling, and packed in a 5kg bag for households that cook it often. The short white grains turn soft and slightly sticky as they cook, the texture wanted for kiribath on New Year morning, for creamy pongal and for a pot of rice kanji. How to use it
The pack gives a simple method. Wash the rice 2 to 3 times in cold water, then add 2 to 2½ cups of water to every cup of rice in a medium saucepan or a rice cooker. Bring it to the boil, turn the heat down to its lowest setting and let it simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and leave the rice to steam for another 12 minutes before serving.
