Enrich White Raw Rice is a Sri Lankan white rice milled raw from the paddy, with short, chalky white grains. Raw rice cooks soft and a little sticky, which makes it the rice for kiribath, the milk rice cut into diamonds for New Year and birthdays, and for sweet pongal, kanji and rice flour made at home. How to use it
The pack gives a simple method. Wash the rice 2 to 3 times in cold water, then add 2 to 2½ cups of water to every cup of rice in a medium saucepan or a rice cooker. Bring it to the boil, turn the heat down to its lowest setting and let it simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and leave the rice to steam for another 12 minutes before serving.
