Elephant House Orange Barley is an orange flavoured sparkling soft drink from the Ceylon Cold Stores range, a Sri Lankan classic bottled in the UK under licence in a 1.5 litre bottle. It is fizzy, sweet and orange, with a soft vanilla note, and is sweetened with sugar plus sucralose and stevia, at 4.8g of sugar per 100ml. Despite the name it is a soda, ready to pour. How to use it
Chill well and serve over ice with a rice and curry lunch, kottu, or a tray of short eats when family visit. Keep the bottle in the fridge once opened and finish it within three days.
