Diamond Foods Wheat Porotta is the flaky, coiled porotta of Kerala and Tamil Nadu in a wheat version, with crisp edges and soft layers that pull apart. The ingredient list is short: wheat flour, water, vegetable oil (Dalda) and salt, with no added sugar. Each round is part cooked before freezing, so the 5 pieces in the box are ready to heat in a pan, oven, toaster or microwave with no defrosting. How to use it
Cook from frozen and remove all packaging first. Heat in a non stick frying pan on high for 2 to 3 minutes, turning frequently, until hot through. In the oven, preheat to 190°C and cook on a baking tray on the middle shelf for 6 minutes. A toaster on high takes 2 to 3 minutes, or microwave on a microwavable plate on full power for 3 minutes. Serve with vegetable kurma, chana masala, egg roast or a chicken curry.
