Diamond Foods Octopus WCL is whole cleaned octopus, Octopus cyaneus, caught with hooks and lines in the Pacific and frozen in Indonesia. The pack is size L, a single large octopus of about 900g with the innards already removed, ready to tenderise and cook. How to use it
The pack says to defrost thoroughly and cook fully prior to consumption. Thaw in the fridge, rinse, then simmer the whole octopus gently in salted water for 45 minutes to an hour until a knife slides easily into the thickest part of a tentacle. Cut into pieces and finish in a hot pan with garlic, chilli and curry leaves, or char on a grill and dress with lime.
