Bru Green Label is a ground filter coffee powder from Hindustan Unilever, blended in the South Indian style with 53% coffee and 47% chicory. The high share of chicory gives the dark, slightly bitter body and thick decoction that makes a strong, milky filter coffee, the daily kaapi of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka homes. It is ground for the traditional two-part steel coffee filter, and the pack notes it can also be prepared by boiling. Browse other blends in our Filter Coffee range.
How to use it
Following the pack, add two teaspoons of powder to the upper part of the filter, press it down with the retainer, then pour in 50ml of hot or boiling water and cover. Wait about 15 minutes while the decoction drips through. Mix the decoction with hot milk and sugar to taste, then pour it between a steel tumbler and davara to raise a frothy top. No filter at home? Simmer the powder in water, let the grounds settle and strain before adding milk.
