Ambrosia Rice Pudding is the ready made creamy rice pudding from Devon, made with full cream and skimmed milk, a little whey, rice and sugar, so milk makes up 72% of the recipe. Creamy and delicious, as the can puts it, it is a store cupboard pudding that needs nothing more than a saucepan or a microwave. How to use it
The can says it tastes delicious hot or cold. On the hob, empty the contents into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring frequently, without letting it boil. In an 800W microwave, empty the contents into a microwaveable container, cover and heat on full power for 1 minute, stir, cover again and heat for a further minute; ovens vary, so adjust the time as needed and handle with care after heating. Serve plain, with a spoon of jam, stewed fruit or a grating of nutmeg, or chill it for a cool dessert.
