Ahuja Foods Chakki Fresh Atta is whole wheat flour ground in a chakki, labelled on the pack as 100% atta with 0% maida. Chakki milling keeps the bran in the flour, which gives rotis their soft texture, light brown colour and full wheat taste. It is an export pack from India, marketed by SSJGT LLC of Dubai and distributed in the UK by Swadeshi Foods UK Ltd, and the 10kg bag is sized for daily roti making. How to use it
Knead the atta with water and a pinch of salt into a soft dough, then cover and rest it for 15 to 20 minutes. Roll into thin chapatis or phulkas and cook on a hot tawa, puffing them over the flame if you like. The same dough makes plain or stuffed parathas, puris for festive meals and thicker rotis to go with dal, sabzi and curries.
