McCain Foods was founded in New Brunswick, Canada, in the 1950s by the McCain brothers and is still privately owned by the family. It is the largest maker of frozen potato products in the world, and in Britain its oven chips and Home Chips have been a familiar sight in family freezers for decades.
Every McCain pack we carry sits in frozen chips and potatoes, part of frozen chips, pizza and meals in our frozen department. The range covers thin coated fries, straight cut Home Chips made with British potatoes, and Vibes, crinkle cut potato snacks that come with their own seasoning sachet, in firecracker chilli and salt and vinegar.
Bake or air fry them from frozen for a quick side with fish fingers, burgers or grilled chicken, or turn them into masala fries tossed while hot with chaat masala, chilli powder and a squeeze of lemon. In many South Asian homes chips become a chip butty with green chutney, a chilli chips stir fry with onions, peppers and soy, or a loaded chaat with yoghurt, tamarind and date chutney and sev. The Vibes snacks are shaken with their seasoning once cooked and shared straight from the bowl.
Store at -18°C, cook until golden and piping hot, and do not refreeze once thawed. For more from the same shelf see frozen pizza, and for coated chicken to serve with chips browse chicken nuggets and bites.
