Jaimin is a snack label in a distinctly Gujarati style, covering the crisp, baked and fried things that go with a cup of chai or make up a chaat plate. The range is practical and festive in equal measure, built for both everyday nibbling and the evenings when friends come round for pani puri.
Our Jaimin range starts with pani puri: ready-fried puris, complete kits, and bottled pani in mint and tamarind flavours, so the whole spread comes together without cooking. On the bakery side there are rusks and khari, with flaky jeera, methi and wholewheat khari plus sweet jaggery and tutti frutti rusks. Finally there are fryums, including red chilli khichiya, the thin rice crackers that puff up when fried or roasted.
For pani puri, crack a hole in each shell, fill it with boiled potato, chickpeas or sprouted moong, then dip it into the chilled pani and eat it in one bite. Gujarati households serve khari with masala chai in the afternoon, dunking each layer until it softens, and rusks go the same way at breakfast. Khichiya can be fried in hot oil for a few seconds or roasted over a flame, then topped with chilli, chaat masala and a drizzle of oil as a quick snack.
Khari and rusks soften quickly once open, so keep them in an airtight tin and eat them within a week or two. Bottled pani tastes best well chilled and kept in the fridge after opening. For more chaat ingredients, compare the Shareat pani puri range and our mathri and papdi collection.
