Drink Me

Drink Me Chai is a chai latte brand in the café style: a sweet, milky, spiced drink in powdered form, the kind of chai latte served in many British coffee shops. It is closer to a café chai than to the boiled tea of an Indian kitchen, and that sweet, creamy character is its appeal. Many people keep it for the afternoon, when a quick, comforting cup is wanted.

Stir a few spoons into hot milk for the creamiest cup, or into hot water for a lighter one, and froth the milk first if you have a steamer or whisk. It also makes an iced chai latte when mixed with a little hot water and poured over ice and cold milk, and it can be stirred into porridge, or used to flavour a sponge cake, buttercream or a batch of cookies. In winter, a pinch of extra ground ginger or black pepper gives it more of the bite of a homemade masala chai.
