Natco Spinach Pure 795g

Natco spinach puree 795g is cooked spinach, pureed and lightly salted, at 97.7 per cent spinach in the tin. It is the workhorse tin for saag and palak paneer when you would rather not wash and wilt two kilos of leaves. It sits next to the KTC spinach puree at the same size and a near-identical recipe; choose the TRS chopped spinach when you want leaf texture instead of a smooth puree.

How to use it

• Palak paneer: fry cumin, garlic, ginger and onion, add the puree, simmer, then add paneer and a little cream
• Saag gosht or saag chicken, where the puree thickens into the gravy
• Dal palak, stirred into a cooked dal before the tarka goes on
• Heat gently and drain before serving as a side with a squeeze of lemon
