KTC Red Kidney Beans are cooked in salted water and ready to heat, 400g with 240g drained. The dried bean needs an overnight soak and a hard boil to be safe; the KTC tin has had both done for it, which is the difference between rajma on a Tuesday and rajma at the weekend. Good fibre and protein at 6.7g and 8.4g per 100g.
How to use it
Drain and rinse, then simmer in an onion, tomato, ginger and garlic masala for rajma, and serve it with plain rice. They also go straight into a chilli, a burrito, a soup or a salad. Warm them through gently; a hard boil breaks them up.
