Haldiram's Tindora is ivy gourd, the small striped green vegetable also known as tondli, kundru or dondakaya, cut into slim lengths and frozen. It is loved in Gujarati, Maharashtrian and Andhra kitchens for crunchy stir fries, tindora nu shaak and spicy fry, and the frozen pack saves the slow work of topping, tailing and slicing every gourd. The pack holds just ivy gourd, 312g in all. Find more frozen vegetables for Indian home cooking in our Frozen Vegetables range.

      How to use it

The pack says to take out the amount you need and keep it at room temperature until defrosted, or place it under running water for a few minutes. For the best results, cook it while it is still frozen: stir fry with mustard seeds, curry leaves, turmeric and chilli until tender and lightly charred, or add it to a potato or peanut sabzi. Return the rest to the freezer straight away.
