Haldiram's Minute Khana Punjabi Sarson Da Saag is mustard leaves, spinach and bathua greens cooked down with garlic, onion, green chilli and a little maize flour, the winter dish of the Punjab that is usually stirred for hours. Mustard greens make up 40% of the pouch and give the saag its peppery, slightly bitter edge. It is mild and vegan, with no added colours or preservatives, and the 300g pouch serves two. How to use it
Heat it one of three ways. Stand the sealed pouch in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes, then cut it open. Empty it into a frying pan and stir over a high heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Or tip it into a microwave dish and heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Serve it the traditional way with makki di roti, a spoon of white butter or ghee on top, and a glass of lassi.
