Gold Spoon Sona Masoori Rice is a medium grain white rice from the Sona Masoori family, the everyday rice of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. It is lighter and less starchy than many South Indian varieties, cooks to soft, separate grains, and suits a meal of rice with sambar, rasam and a vegetable poriyal. The 10kg bag with carry handles is sized for a household that eats rice every day. Find more medium grain rice in our Sona Masoori Rice range.
How to use it
Rinse the rice two or three times until the water runs clearer. For a pot, use about two cups of water to each cup of rice, bring to the boil, then cover and cook on a low heat for 12 to 15 minutes; in a pressure cooker, allow two to three whistles. Serve it with sambar, rasam, dal or curd, or use it for lemon rice, tamarind rice, pongal and curd rice. Keep the bag closed in a cool, dry place.
