Fudco Special Garam Masala is a ground blend of coriander, cumin, cinnamon, ginger, chilli, black pepper, clove, nutmeg, cardamom and bay leaf. Coriander and cumin lead, so it is fuller and less sharp than a blend of whole sweet spices alone, with warmth from the pepper and a little chilli. The 400g bag suits anyone who finishes most curries with a pinch of garam masala. Find more blends in our Garam Masala range.
How to use it
Sprinkle half a teaspoon over a curry, dal or sabzi in the last few minutes of cooking and stir it through, so the aroma stays fresh. Add a spoonful to the onion and tomato base for chicken, lamb or keema, rub it into meat with yoghurt, ginger and garlic before grilling, or mix it into the filling for samosas and parathas. Keep a small tin for daily use and the rest of the bag sealed, as ground spice loses its scent once exposed to air.
