Fudco Pop Corn is dried popping corn, the small, hard, golden kernels that burst into fluffy popcorn in a hot pan. Making it at home means you choose the oil, the salt and the seasoning, from plain butter and salt to masala popcorn with chaat masala, chilli and turmeric or a sweet coating of caramelised sugar or jaggery. How to use it
Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large, heavy pan with a lid, add three kernels and wait for them to pop. Then add enough kernels to cover the base in a single layer, put the lid on and shake the pan now and then over a medium heat. Take it off the heat when the popping slows to a few seconds apart and tip it into a bowl. Season while hot with salt and melted butter, or toss with chaat masala, chilli powder and a pinch of turmeric for masala popcorn.
