Fudco Hot Green Chilli Pickle is chopped green chilli, 65% of the jar, preserved with salt, ginger, mustard seed, turmeric and a pinch of asafoetida in corn oil. The result is sharp, salty and properly hot, with the fresh green taste of the chilli still clear. A spoonful on the side of the plate goes a long way, so the 283g jar lasts. How to use it
Serve a little alongside dal and rice, parathas, thepla or khichdi, or with a plate of samosas and pakoras. Mix half a teaspoon into plain yoghurt for a quick chilli raita, or spread a thin layer inside a cheese toastie or a potato sandwich. Use a clean, dry spoon each time, keep the jar in the fridge once opened, and finish it within a month.
