Fudco Ground Cumin is jeera powder, the earthy, slightly smoky spice that gives dals, raita, chaat and countless curries their familiar savour. The 800g pack suits a household or kitchen that cooks with cumin every day and wants to refill a smaller jar. How to use it
Add a teaspoon to the onion and tomato base of a curry with ground coriander, or stir it into dal near the end of cooking. For a quick raita, dry roast a little in a pan until it smells toasty and mix it into whisked yoghurt with salt. It is also good in chaat, jeera aloo, kebab mixes and sprinkled over buttermilk. Tip some into a jar for daily use and keep the rest sealed.
